Stanley
The photobook is a collaborative piece made during the last years of my grandads life. We formed a narrative through a combination of past family photographs, images made from a compact camera and my photographs, which I made during regular visits.
The result is an intimate, and relatable portrait from the home of one of the city’s last industrial generation era. An era that worked and found love in the pottery industry, and an era now beautifully out of place in a modern world. In this place we are invited to ponder with a personal account of one mans love, loss and the inevitability of death. The book is a memorial to my grandad, Stanley Bell.
